The Irishman/Air Force Pararescue PJ/CRNA/Army Lt. Colonel/Soccer Coach/Part time Actor/Loving father and devoted Husband/Vietnam veteran/Desert Storm veteran/legend is finally taking the long walk home. We all die, the goal isn’t to live forever but to create something that will…..I know for certain that Harry O'Beirne has accomplished that task.
The numerous texts, calls and messages yesterday from everyone only confirm that Harry touched a lot of lives. He wouldn’t want any of us to be upset, he loved life and loved making everyone laugh. He’s in a better spot now, the Parkinsons that he’s been battling for the last 20 years finally won but in the end I like to think that he actually won the war because he never gave up, he had too many things that he knew he
would miss out on.
As for the O’Beirnes left behind, we are all devastated but trying to remain strong for mom. We want for nothing, we love all of the support and hearing from old friends, the prayers are highly appreciated but we really don’t need anything. The service arrangements are as follows
Visitation - Sunday 3-5pm, Laughlin funeral home on Bob Wallace dr, Huntsville, Al
Funeral- Monday 1pm Mass at Holy Spirit on Airport Rd, Huntsville, Al followed by graveside at Maple Hill cemetery.
To the Irish that lowered the flags to half mast at the Irish barracks today….that was a class move and Harry would have loved it.
Sorry gentlemen, we have been busy making arrangements, if anyone needs any information then please feel free to message and I will get back when I can or you have pretty good organizers. Plenty of hotels in the surrounding area near the church - the best would be the Doubletree by Hilton on boulevard South or the Hilton Garden Inn South Redstone on the same road- if someone wants
to organize a group rate if alot of you are attending. There is also a Springhill suites and Embassy Suites downtown that are nice - visitation is on Sunday and Church service on Monday with 80% of rain....but its a warm rain. Let me know if I can be any help - thanks and dad loved you guys.
