Obituary for Lt. Col. Andrew Lynwood Cook

It is with great sadness that the family of Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Lynwood Cook announces his passing, on Friday, March 16, 2018, in Alexandria, VA at the age of 48 years. A native of Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of Jane (Florence) Cook, and the late Herbert Cook. He enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Pararescueman in 1994, and was commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in 2002. Drew was a loving husband and father and enjoyed the beach, boating, playing with the family dog, traveling and spending quality time with his wife and daughters. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 18 years, Dawn (Eichinger) Cook, his two daughters Madelyn Cook (16) and Zoe Cook (14), and brother Alexander Cook. Memorial donations in memory of Andrew may be made to the Pararescue Foundation, PO box 809, Milford, MI 48381 or to his daughters’ college fund via Dawn Cook, 10200 Forney Loop, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060.

The PJ Association has been asking all members to update their profile to help the association provide better communications.

More than 400 of you responded! We sincerely thank the many of you who have taken the time to update your member profile, accurately.

The temporary PJ Association Member Update Form in use the last few months, is now disabled (Effective: Sunday, May 27th, 2018).

With this new database, our goal is to create a better resource to forge a stronger alliance with members, by encouraging stronger association engagement and member participation.

The Member List Reorganization, and Database Development Project has been a larger, more complex project than anticipated, but we are now nearing the launch of a newly revised member portal and database constructed from member updates, new member applications, and existing member records.

From the new Member Portal, members will be able to see the PJ Association Member List, Upgrade Memberships to Life Member status, and to Pay Dues for annually renewing members.

The new Member Portal will be launched early to mid-June, with additional features and functions for members as the database matures.

Remember Life Memberships make a difference, are you on the LM list???

“GENERATIONS” ICE BREAKER – 09/19/2018
The Generations Icebreaker is the opening function of the reunion and rodeo introducing generations of PJs spanning decades, and to announce the PJ Rodeo teams competing from around the world. This grand event is housed in the hotel and scheduled as a critical function during the 75th Pararescue Anniversary.
MISSIONS TOUR W/ BREAKFAST AT GUENTHER HOUSE - 09/20/2019
Your day will begin enjoying an awesome breakfast buffet at the Guenther House (built in 1859), then continue with a tour of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site, this park preserves four of the five missions located in San Antonio - Mission Concepción, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada.
Please note the Guenther House is not accessible to anyone who cannot negotiate stairs.

The new Pararescue Association website, our Facebook page and the New PJA AIG (all in group) is live and online. It's a living and changing process. So share the news and check out the store for all your PJ memorabilia, buy a beret, hat, stickers and more.

At the PJ Association, 100% of all funds donated by individuals go to our family and Brotherhood support funds. Our staff and team is made up of 100% volunteers. We raise funds from the sales of memorabilia items, our PJ Reunions and the PJ Rodeo ( which is a competition amongst our Special Operations and Guardian Angel Teams every two years). These functions as well as our dues and other events help cover all operating cost.

So, thank you to everyone for your donations, contributions and dues payments to the Pararescue Association.

PJ Association Membership

Membership in the Pararescue Association is based on eligibility. All membership applications are subject to review and approval by the PJ Association Board of Directors.
Membership Classifications, Fees & Dues

Full and Associate Members, with dues in good standing are encouraged to upgrade to a Life Membership. New Member Applicants qualifying for Full or Associate membership are encouraged to join as a Life Member.

Life Member - ($300.00 1 time fee) - open to Full and Associate Members with dues in good standing, and to New Applicants for Full or Associate membership.
Full Members - $40.00 to join; renews at $20/year on the anniversary date.
Associate Members - $40.00 to join; renews at $20 year on the anniversary date.
Legacy - Immediate family members of PJ's Killed in the Line of Duty
Honorary - applicants are sponsored by a Life or Full Member with dues in good standing. Dues do not apply for Legacy and Honorary Members.
Applications for a Gold Star Family Membership, Legacy or a Widow of a PJ applying for Associate Widow Membership are reviewed and approved by the PJ Association Board of Directors. Dues do not apply.
