To All,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pararescueman, Dave Harvey, at age 68.  He was born September 11, 1950 in Jackson, Mississippi.  He graduated from PJ class 72-01.  His first duty station was Hickam AFB, Hawaii where he worked to support the NASA Skylab Mission.  Subsequently PCS to Fairchild AFB, Washington at the Survival School 3636^th Combat Crew Training Group. After separation, he started a small construction company and moved it to his hometown of Jackson, MS.  Dave loved to work with fire and steel creating extraordinary knives.  Dave was also heavily involved with his church ministry called His Heart.  He is survived by his wife, Gloria, and his daughters, Melissa Harvey, Alice Schonewitz and Jennifer Rogers, as well as his mother, Martha.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, June 26 from 4:30-7 pm at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 106 Cynthia Street, Clinton, MS 39056.  Thursday, June 27, funeral services will be at 10am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1300 W Capitol Street, Jackson, MS 39203.  Pall bearers are asked to arrive an hour early.  You can contact Chipper Williams for further information on the service:

Some of us did not know Dave or just met him in passing with a hand shake. Those that worked with and knew him hold him in high regard as a warrior PJ, who now joins the squadron of PJ Rescue Angels who have made their final jump.

When one of our PJ brothers passes it takes a piece of our hearts with him. It would be immensely appreciated if those who have stories would write and share them with the family.
