Jimmie was born in Charleston, Illinois on Sunday May2, 1943 to Louis Genevieve and Raymond McConnell. He was the oldest of four siblings, Eddie, Gary, and Linda. His family moved to Arizona when he was a young boy and that is where he called home.
He joined the Army with his lifelong friend, Ronnie, where he spent almost 4 years in the 82 nd Airborne Division. During his time in the Army, he found his thrill of jumping out of planes, shooting guns and helping others. He then enlisted in the Air Force as a
Pararescueman doing the things he truly loved and meeting a multitude of lifelong friends. After retiring from the Air Force, Jimmie decided to continue serving his country in the Phoenix Fire Department. He continued to give his blood, sweat, and tears to others for over twenty years in the fire department.
In the midst of it all, he started his own family, constructed houses for others and herded cattle. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Wendy, his three children, Tracey, Kelley and Colton, and his grandson Dakota.
Jimmy loved jumping out of airplanes, chasing women, sipping whiskey, riding horses and most of all his family.
Jimmie's Celebration of Life will be held on August 6, 2022, from 11-3pm at 7500 W Santa Maria Vista, Prescott, AZ.
