The PJ History website is now online in a beta version. We started with a homepage located at https://pjhistory.org/  From the homepage you can now view many of the medals awarded to CRO’s/PJ’s. Presently we have 283 medals online (14AFC, 124SS, 76DFC, & 69AM). It took a lot of time to type each of these award narratives and then create web pages for each of them.

I’ve started on the list of CRO’s/PJ’s killed in action (KIA) and those killed in the line of duty (KLOD). I would like to have all of the KIA’s posted by this Memorial Day and then add as many of the KLOD. My first draft is now online at https://pjhistory.org/KLOD/KLOD.htm

This is where I now need your help. I would like to add pictures and memorial information for each of our KIA’s. Look at the list and see if I am missing anyone. The Vietnam War KIA’s is probably complete but it could use additional pictures and memorial files.

The list of KIA’s in the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) is probably not complete. If you know someone who should be on the list or if you have pictures / memorial items then get that information to me at rlapointe@gci.net

The plan for the history site can be read on the homepage. After the memorial pages, I will next add a listing of all known graduates of the PJ School. That will be followed by the origins of Pararescue, Korean War, Vietnam War, NASA Support, GWOT, Contingency Operations and civilian SAR. We have a long way to go but we are started on the path to success.

I have some assistance with this new website. Jim Carden is working on reorganizing the PJ Association Digital Historical Archive to provide standardized file names and file types. Robert Disney is working on an Artificial Intelligence Ai search algorithm for the site. Doug Horka is checking out pages already published for errors and broken hyperlinks.
