To All,

We are sad to announce the passing of TSgt Harwell “Quill” Quillian August 6th in Crawfordville, FL of respiratory failure after several years fighting multiple cancers.

Quill was in pararescue from January 1965 to July 1977 and was in PJ class 66-01.

Quill served three tours in SEA and was the first PJ to graduate USA Special Forces Recondo School in Nha Trang and was the last NCOIC at the base. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1972. He was stationed around the world with tours at: Eglin, Homestead, Bermuda, Orlando,
Utah, & Alaska.

Despite later careers in life he was always a PJ and loved catching up with pilot and PJ brothers at Jolly Green
& PJ reunions until traveling was not possible. He was thankful to all for the friendships that lasted years after his service.

He
memorial service was held August 12th at the First Methodist Church in Greenville, AL. In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Legion or any veterans support group is requested.

Some of us did not know Quill or just met him in passing but he was a teammate and brother. He now joins the squadron of PJ Rescue Angels who have made their final jump.

When one of our brothers passes he takes a piece of our hearts with him. It would be immensely appreciated if those who have stories would send their remembrances & condolences.
